What is the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 items?

Class 1 items are regular consumer goods. (Clothing, Books, Shoes etc.) These are charged at USD 6.99 per lb via air and USD 3.99 per lb via sea.

Class 2 items are goods which require special handling. These include but are not limited to Electronics, Perfume, Watches. These are charged at USD 8.99 per lb by air and USD 3.99 per lb by sea.
